UNIT 29 P3 - Plan an installation and an upgrade

ALL ASSIGNMENTS HERE!! PASS, MERITS AND DISTINCTIONS

1. When you’re planning an installation for a business or cooperation you would need to plan how you’re going to go about installing the software and when the best time would be to install.

2. Firstly you would have to back up everything first, just in case of any errors or files being corrupted.

3. You would need to make sure you have everything for the installation like a full licence throughout the company so all the computers are able to use the software within the company or organisation.

4. You would make sure that the hardware is compatible with the software so you wouldn’t stumble up on errors or faults within the computers. This would save time when you’ve made sure the computers are compatible or upgraded the hardware to make it compatible.

5. You would need to decide when the best time to install the software would be like at 10pm where no one is working so it wouldn’t interfere with business while the computer is installing the software so business isn’t lost.

6. Make sure you know roughly how long the installing will take so it doesn’t over step the time of business hours.

7. After the software has installed open the application and check then double check everything is running smoothly

8. After you’ve checked the software that was just installed, you must check all the other software’s to see if they are running normally to.

9. If an upgrade is needed, firstly you would check if an upgrade is available and if so then you would have to check how big the file size is.

10. After you know how much the file is then you would choose a time best around the company or organisation to avoid interruptions.

11. After the installation you would need to check if everything is in order with the software upgrade for any errors.

12. After checking you would need to restart the computer and then test out all the other programs to see if they are running correctly.

13. After everything is in order you are good to carry on with business as usual.
